Mikalauski threw six innings of shutout ball before giving up an RBI-double RBI-double to Alisha Hatfield to score Kelsey Morris in the seventh. Gillespie provided the offense going 2-for-4 with three RBIs from the plate. However, the four runs of offense was not enough for Mountain View coach Cal Jones as the Bruins left 10 runners stranded in six innings. They left at least one runner on base every inning and twice ' left the bases loaded. "We can't get the time-. time-. ly hits and we have to do . that," Jones said. Of course, the Bruins did get eight free passes, seven walks and one hit batter. "We had to win this one," Jones said. "This win put us in the tourney. It was huge." Mountain View scored first when Kaylee Worthington's ground out brought home Felicia Marzan in the second inning. In the fifth, the Bruins scored again when Gillespie doubled home Wright but Gillespie was picked off trying to advance to third when the Pleasant Grove pitcher pitch-er cut off the throw to the plate. Gillespie avenged herself her-self with a two-out, two-RBI two-RBI single to score Amy Welling and Zimmerman. The win puts the Bruins (3-1) all alone in second place. It is key for the Bruins to stay in the top two spots so they can keep home field advantage advan-tage in the first round of the state tournament. They go against Orem today in a game that could decide the region title. Orem won their previous previ-ous showdown in a 1-0 pitching duel. Pleasant Grove committed commit-ted 10 errors to help the T-Wolves T-Wolves on to the win. Six of the miscues occurred in a five-run sixth inning. "Starting 0-3, we had to win this one," Timpanogos coach Randy Richins said. "These girls know what is at stake in every game here on out." The Vikings had a 3-0 lead in the third after a Lauren Francom double brought home Kelsey Morris and Paola Rios. However, the Wolves rallied ral-lied with one in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth to tie the game. In the sixth, Pleasant Grove fell apart defensively. Kristine McCustion singled sin-gled to start the inning and an error on the PG second baseman allowed her to advance to second.
