Show MARCH 9, 1983 Lt. and Mrs. James C. welcomed a daughter into their ho e, their first child, on Dec. 29. They are stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. The new addition weighed in at 6 lb. 8 oz. and was named Erin Nicole. The new mother was the former Janet Knowles of Kaysville. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ariel Knowles, Kaysvill-e- ; Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Anaheim, Calif. The include Mr. and Mrs. William F. Paul, West Valley City; and ts Mrs. L.E. Steiner of Mil- waukee, Wise. It is the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Williamsen. Mrs. Knowles and her mother Mrs. Paul flew to Alabama to visit a week with Lt. and Mrs. James Williamsen. Mr. and Mrs. Blain Hyer and family spent the weekend in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Kib Jacobsen and children of Grand Junction, Colo, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. ICaysville N ews Earl Goaslmd and also visited in Randolph with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Jacobsen. Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Barton returned from a two month vacation trip to Arizona and California. They spent three weeks in Sun City, Ariz. sightseeing and while there visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Mitchell. They traveled on to California where they visited with friends and vacationed in San Diego, Canoga Park, also the State Parks along the beaches and visited with an uncle, Jed Ashton in Oxnard, Calif, and with their son Blair Barton in Concord before returning home. From Logan comes word of the arrival of a son bom Feb. 4 to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Murdock. The new addition arrived weighing 8 lb. 3 oz. and will be named Brett. Mrs. k Mur-doc- is the former Cheri Spendlove of Logan. It is their fourth child. The grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. John Murdock of Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Spendlove of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Collier returned from a 10 day vacation trip to California and Arizona. They attended the LDS Temples at St. George, Mesa, Ariz. and Los Angeles, Calif, in addition to sightseeing. In California they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hancock at Piacentia. Bryan Rogerson is confined to the hospital the past week undergoing treatment. Visitors Tuesday of Mrs. Goldie Ball were her two sisters of Ogden, Mrs. Lil Henley and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Seeg-mille- r. Mrs. Barbara Thomassen has been confined to the Davis North Hospital since Feb. 10 where she underwent two major surgeries and is in serious condition in intensive care unit. Mr. and Mrs. Casper G. These two weeks By NEAL COPPERMAN Student Correspondent Two Layton juniors have been awarded scholarships to the Advanced High School Studies Program in computer science at Brigham Young University. TIM Eccleston and Carlos Salazar will attend a two week session of classes at the Uni Syracuse News will be the equivalent of the full semester introductory computer course required for computer science majors. The two weeks will be full of hard work, with the students spending large parts of the day, the evening, and weekends in the classroom and TIM AND Carlos were also awarded scholarships, which will cover the cost of tuition and computer usage. The students were chosen for their mathematical and scientific ability, and for grade point averages that ranked them in the top three percent of their class. Mrs. Beverly Call and daughter Angela of Nyssa, Ore. and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Call and two children of Homedale, Ida. were visitors for four days of Mrs. Beverly Calls sister, Mrs. Dorothy Peterson in Fruit Heights and with her mother Mrs. Julia Webster and her brother Dee Webster and other relatives in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Murdock of Jackson Hole, Wyo. were recent visitors of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Anderson of Malta, Ida. spent two weeks vacationing in Hawaii. Their children stayed w ith the grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Jack Rampton. A family party was held honoring Alan Murdock and Helen Fortune who were married Feb. 12. Alan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. Walwyn Green, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Green returned from a 10 day vacation trip to San Diego, Calif. The following group from Syracuse traveled to California last week with the Blue Joan Hart, who has been making her home in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she is a senior flight attendant for Western Airlines will now be stationed in Salt Lake City. She is making her home temporarily with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hart until she can locate in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Suzanne Hope, Mrs. Gaylene Wilcox, and Mrs. RosAnne Birch, spent a few days last week in San Francisco, Calif., sightseeing and enjoying the Northern beauty of that state. Mrs. Sonja Barker writes home to friends that she and her husband and family who are on a two year assignment with the government in Europe have recently taken a lengthy tour of Italy. Seeing such highlights as Florence. Rome, St. Pauls Square, The Roman Colesium ruins, the Forum. Naples, Sorrento, Pompei and others.
