Show max B jenkins funeral Is held thursday funeral services were held thursday at the morgan stake tabernacle for capt max B jen L F 4 i capt max alax B jenkins kins 25 2 i who was victim of a B 17 crash in the great salt lake early monday morning capt jenkins was one of five crewmen of the ill fated bomber which was returning from a routine week end training flight from albuquerque N M to the home base at hill field the plane crashed between antelope island and promontory in great salt lake during a storm capt jenkins was born in milton feb 11 1924 a son of delos and nellie nelson Jen jenkins kihs ile he was educated in morgan schools and was graduated radiated from morgan high school school he later took aircraft mechanics at weber college and was employed in aircraft r repair at vario various us western air fields ile he volunteered for air service duty aug 6 1042 1942 but was not called to active duty until feb 1 19 1943 1913 13 ile he attended a number of air corps schools receiving his wings at luke field phoenix ariz dec 4 1943 serving overseas in the pacific theatre he flew missions in 10 months and was honorably discharged in 1943 1945 when the utah air national guard fighter squadron was activated he be enlisted and had since been a member at hill air force base he was employed as a civil service em aloye and was flight dispatcher at the base he married barbara nichols jenkins of ogden in the mesa ariz temple june 12 1043 1943 he was a member of the sunset ward and an elder in that ward surviving are his widow and two children sandra 3 and max alax D olle one year old a sister beth jenkins warner two half brothers mark and bert hulet his mother nellie nelle N J hulet and his stepfather nephi J hulet his father delos jenkins of lima mont services in morgan were directed by veterans of foreign wars national guard planes were flown over morgan during services burial was in milton cemetery |
