Show sr I BOX ELDER NEWS, i Brigham City, Utah Church rite unites couple Sunday, August 28, 1977 Sarah Yates, women's editor Community Presbyterian church of Brigham City was the scene of the Friday, July 8, candlelight nuptial ceremony uniting the former Miss Sharon (Sherie) R. Anderson and David D. Hickox in marriage. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Norman L. Anderson, 518 North Highland Blvd., Brigham City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hickox, 167 South Third East,' Brigham City. The Rev. Richard B. Lawson officiated at the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Don (Donna) Callaway at the organ. Mrs. Norman (Marilyn) Anderson, mother of the bride, sang The Wedding Song. Rites performed Aug. 24 in the Ogden LDS temple united Miss Betty Baron and Mark V. Cowley in marriage, with Patriarch George Grimshaw at the ceremony. Parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Dale G. Baron, hosted a garden reception that evening at the home of the brides sister and brother-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rose. President and Mrs. Don R. Cowley, parents of the bridegroom, hosted a wedding breakfast for the wedding party at Maddox Ranch house. The bride presented a longstemmed talisman rose to her mother during the bridal processional and a second talisman rose to her new mother, Mrs. Hickox, at the beginning of the recessional. Norman Anderson and Charles Hickox, fathers of the bride and groom, read scriptural passages from Genesis and MISS TERRY ROBINETTE Bridal gown For her wedding and reception, the bride wore a gown of sheerganza over bridal taffeta enhanced with Venice lace trim. Wide double ruffles formed the collar on the round neckline, enhancing the fitted waistline with a tucked cummerbund forming a large bow at the back. Bishop sleeves and a bouffant skirt edged by a deep flounce completed the gown. She carried a traditional bouquet of small yellow roses, stephanotis and babys breath to compliment her gown. Matron of honor was Mrs. LaVon Rose, sister of the bride. Attending matrons were Mrs. Linda Baron and Mrs. Alice Neff, and bridesmaid was Miss Kathleen Sherratt. Little Lori Rose was flower girl. They wore gowns of yellow, gold and orange floral sheer-glo- Couple circles date for September wedding Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd C. Robinette of Brigham City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Terry to Roily Loftshult, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Loftshult. The couple will be married on Sept. 23 in a ceremony to be performed at St. Henry's Catholic church in Brigham City, with a reception to be held in their honor following the wedding. Miss Robinette graduated from Box Elder High school in 1973 and Is currently a student at the University of Utah. A lovely three-tiere- d cake with a fourtain between layers was decorated with yellow roses, daisies and cherubs. Gifts were under the care of Mrs. Rebecca Hudson and Mrs. Susie Scothern. The couple planned to honeymoon on the California coast and at Lake Tahoe before returning to make their home in Brigham City. He will then continue his at Westudies in ber State college, and the new Mrs. Cowley is locally employed. TOPS club 263 has reason to celebrate a night, which turned into a double celebration as the club held its third nogainer night in a row. The meeting was also highlight by a total weight loss of 22 pounds by the ten members who weighed in. Debbie Iverson was queen of the week. I leave Monday for what I hope is a brief stay in St. Benedicts hospital in Ogden. Visitors Arrive It was an exciting day at the Floyd Jensen home when Miss Prior and Miss Ann Hughes-Hughe- s arrived from Maidstone, Kent, England to spend a few days. The two ladies are spending a month vacationing in various towns in Arizona and Utah. The days were very interesting and for the visitors and Pamela Patricia fun-pack- the Jensens. Also, the William G. Smith family from Loveland, Colorado, came to spend a day with the Jensens and were happy to get acquainted with Pam and Pat and talk to them about their son, Elder Jeff Smith, who is mission in serving a two-yethe England London Mission. Pat and Pam are now visting with other missionary families in the Utah area and will return to England on August 30. The Smith family is now vacationing in San Diego, California, and upon returning to Utah on the 26th will leave their daughter, Cindy, in Provo where she will begin her junior and musical year in pre-latheatre. And the Jensens? Well, the house is much too quiet after the wonderful excitement of the past few weeks! Temple Tour I called Mrs. May Balls Thur- sday to find out about her exciting trip Midland, Michigan, where she went to visit her son and family Mr. and Mrs. Delwin Balls. She joined them on a temple excursion to Washington D.C. They visited the Washington LDS temple and spent some time touring the city at night. They also attended the Palmyra Pageant on the 22nd of July. This was an especially big thrill to Mrs. Balls since the 22nd happened to be her birthday. They also visited the sacred grove and other points of interest in LDS church history. They followed the Susquehanna River to and stopped at Corning and were especially interested by the Crystal Display at the Corning Ware Factory. They continued on to Niagara Falls and toured the Falls from both Canadian and American sides. From there they returned to their home in Midland. One of the most impressive things she saw on her trip was a visit in Saginaw to see the unique antique shows. Baby Arrives Mr. and Mrs. Brad Freeze of Mantua have named their new baby boy Colby Raymond. He was born on August 19 and weighed nine pounds and six ounces. This is the couples first child. Mrs. Freeze is the former Mona Sorenson of Mantua. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Byron Sorenson of Mantua and Mrs. Narlene Freeze of this city. are Briefing You Visiting with Mrs. Shirlea Christenson this week has been Mrs. Irene Krenn of San Diego, California. She also spent some time with her granddaughter and husband Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Cindy) Stark. Mrs. Krenn formerly made her home in Brigham City and enjoyed visiting with old friends. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Josephson entertained at a dinner Thursday night for J.R. Olsen, his sister, Mrs. Josephine Whitaker who is visiting here from Montebello, California, and a brother, Blaine Olsen of this city. The floorlength princess silhouette gown fell softly into a full chapel length train. The ensemble was completed with a candlelight chiffon tiered hat flowing into a chapel length train, also trimmed with guipure lace. The gown and hat were designed and made by the brides mother. A bridal Bible adorned with a cascalc consisting of thalaenot-si- s orchies and miniature talisman roses enhanced with cascading ivy, babys breath and streamers with love knots was carried by the bride. Wedding party Mrs. Kelly (Gail) Kobayashi, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Cynthia (Cindy Anderson, Miss Beth Hickox, Miss Mary Holmgren and Miss Lisa Robinson. All were attired in peach floral printed voile floor length gowns fashioned with a capelet flowing into a long sash. Each wore a talisman rose in her hair and carried a bouquet of white daisies, talisman roses and babys breath enhanced with peach streamers and ivy. Also attending the bride was Debbie Choate as flower girl. She wore matching floorlength dress and carried a small white basket of yellow and talisman rose petals, which she scattered on the aisle before the brides entrance. Attending the bridegroom as best man was Jon Snyder. Groomsmen were David Buck-housDavid Thirkill and David Burnett. A spice shower was given by Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Kobayashi and Mrs. Kelly (Gail) Kobayashi on July 1. Mrs. Robert (Clarice) Williams and Miss Barbara Williams honored the bride with a brunch and shower on July 2. Also a prenuptial party was given by Kim Case in Salt Lake City on July 6. ' Following a honeymoon trip the couple are making their home in Portland, Ore. e, Irene Krenn, and their granddaughter, Heather Josephson. Heather and her grandpa entertained by singing. Ronald Secrist left for St. George on Monday morning, August 22, where he will be playing center position for the football team at Dixie College. You can bet that the Donrey Secrists will be spending a few hours on the road this fall to see Fuzz play. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Josephson, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson were in Salt Lake City last week to attend the National Society Sons of Pioneers convention. The three conclave convention is held at the University of Utah. In addition to the meetings, there was a commemorative ceremony at the This is the Place Monument at which Mark E. Peterson was the speaker. The group toured many pioneer industrial sites in the Salt Lake City area and went to Park City where they visited the Park City mine which is still in operation. On Saturday night they attended a barbecue steak dinner where Sterling W. Sill was the guest speaker which was followed by a dance. On Sunday morning the group had reserved seats to hear the Tabernacle choir sing. BEHS class of 1927 plans golden reunion All members of the Class of 1927 of Box Elder High school are intived to attend the reunion which will mark the golden anniversary of their graduation slated for Friday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m. at the Red Baron restaurant. Locating the addresses of all class members has been a rewarding experience for the committee, according to the reunion chairman. It has also been a considerable challenge since the class has never before held a reunion and 50 years have allowed classmates to scatter widely.
