Brigham hospitals Employee of the Year and recipient of the Dr. Thomas L. Frist Humanitarian award, has been selected as Hospital Corporation of Americas Division IX winner. City Community IX is composed of 14 HCA hospitals located in the Intermountain and Far West region. The announcement was made by Ida Cooney, corporation manager of public relations for Hospital Corporation in Nashville, Tenn. A spokesman for the Utah Board of Water Resources said Friday that Thornley K. Swan, a Second District judge in Davis county who owns a ranch at Promontory, received $48,000 and George W. Swan of received $30,000. The interest free loan to Judge Swan will be used to rennovate a water system, first developed before the turn of the century by Central Pacific railroad, to aid in maintenance of Swans basic livestock herd. The project involves spring development, pipe, trough and stock water ponds. Of the estimated $60,000 cost, $12,000 will be paid by Lloyd Keller who operates a nearby ranch and shares a portion of the water system. Judge Swan will buy the $48,000 remainder of the project n Model aircraft will be shown on an eight-yea- r contract. A new well, equipment for an existing well, tank and troughs on the George Swan spread will cost an estimated $30,000. He has agreed to buy" the works from the state over a period. The spokesman said the sponsors, or landowners, turn over all waler rights and easements to the Board of Water Resources until the project is bought until by the sponsor-meaninthe loan is repaid. If minor details are resolved, the money for both projects will become available when the g emergency water resources act passed by the legislature in July become effective Sept. 10. The spokesman said to obtain a loan, written application was made to the board and applicants had to make more than half of the gross income from a farm or ranch operation. The board verified a need for upgrading water systems and loans were made on a basis. The spokesman said 18 applicants met with the board Thursday and 14 received loans. An entry form can be found in todays Box Elder News. Mrs. Nelson said displays must be placed in the windows by Thursday afternoon, Sept. 8. J udges will look at the various displays Friday morning. Ribbons will be awarded for the top three entries in each category. Arrangements for windows will be handled by the Soroptimist club. Those making entries will be notified of their window assignments. To accomplish this, persons planning to participate should have their entries in by Sept. 1, Mrs. Nelson stated. The recipient nationally will receive an trip to Nashville, an original bronze casting of the Thomas F.
