Show Page 10 5 Thursday, July 26, 1979 Children's Polaroid Workshop For the third year, the Kimball Art Center will offer a free Polaroid photography workshop for children age 7-12 7-12 years beginning Monday, July 30 through Friday, August 3. Admittance will be on a first come basis and will be limited to 25 Park City children who have never participated in this workshop before. No pre-registration pre-registration is needed. The workshop will be held each morning from 9 a.m. until noon. The free Polaroid workshop is under the skillful direction of Salt Lake photographer Brent Herridge. Herridge, a Park City Ski Patrolman, has conducted the workshop for children and adults throughout Utah, and notes that he "Particularly likes holdi ng the workshop here. ' ' Herridge said that his workshop was one of seven photographic programs in the world that was covered in the 1979 edition of the Time-Life Photography An nual. "I feel good about what we've created for children," he added. As program director for the Children's Photographic Workshops, a program originally founded to improve im-prove self-image and awareness of children in low-income low-income families, Herridge will conduct the Park City workshop with the assistance assis-tance of three additional photographers, John Schaefer, Fred Wright, and VinnieFish. Each child will be giyen a Polaroid camera and film for personal use during the workshop. In addition to the use of the camera for the entire week, the children will receive extensive ex-tensive instruction on camera usage, choice of subjects, sub-jects, esthetic awareness, proper composition and treatment. Following the workshop, the children's photos will be exhibited in the Art Center's downstairs gallergy during the Park City Arts Festival. Grisman Cancels The Dave Grisman Quartet concert scheduled for Saturday, Satur-day, August 4 at City Park has been cancelled because key members have left the group on short notice. Taking Grisman's place during the Arts Festival will be Oregon, featuring guitarist guitar-ist Ralph Towner. Dave Grisman has been rescheduled to play at the Utah Symphony Concert Hall on September 16 with special guest Stephanie Variety Of Musical i Shows The Park City Arts Festival will present over 20 musici-cians, musici-cians, singers, dancers and mimists on three Main Street stages this year. From Park City and surrounding sur-rounding Summit County ' will be Kat and Mickey James, Lee Beebe and Marty Morrison, "Alias," Don Gomes, Tom Distadt, Andrea Metos and Marsha Gray and Scott Gardner. From other surrounding areas there will be Karen Gibbs, Julie Mark, Margie Rylatt and Friends, John Paulson Quartette, Mainstream, Stan Smith Memorial Band, Jordan River Uptown Band, Aziz, U. of U. Folkdancers, Linda Bevins "La Santella," Salt Lake Chamberwinds, Easy Winners Dixie Band, Stu Curtis, Andy Monoco, Greg Goldston...and more. The performances will be held between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on three stages located in the empty lot next to the Park Record office on Main Street, the plaza at the Kimball Art Center, and the deck of the Japanese Peasant Peas-ant restaurant at the corner of Main Street and Heber Avenue.
