Did his recent shake-up of the cabinet help or hurt his popularity? Reed Richards I think Carter will make it easy for the Republican nominee. The cabinet shake-up shake-up hurt Carter. As long as he was purging his staff he should of gotten rid of the real dead wood.. ..which he didn't. Dixie Tirre His chances for re-election are lousy. The cabinet shake-up may have helped because it made it appear as if the President was trying to do something positive. David Reid Carter doesn't have much chance of being re-elected. Though the cabinet shake-up probably didn't hurt, I doubt that it helped. There is little Carter could do now to regain his popularity. Silvia Maxwell The cabinet shake-up showed Carter is trying to improve the performance of this administration. Though things look bad for the President right now I think he still has a chance to win another term. Nini Rich The President has slim chances of being re-elected and the change of cabinet only hurt him. Most Americans don't view Carter as being experienced enough in national affairs to be president. Patty Minden Unfortunately, Carter has a pretty pret-ty good chance of being re-elected. His recent cabinet shake-up will probably appease some of his critics. if - - L "Win- '.' zfes Editor (Onlv signed letters will be published.) A One-Sided Story Dixie Tirre If V r 'r J 5. tsF Silvia Maxwell Patty Minden To The Editor: In response to the article. Windsurfing Looks Good, published in the recent In-termountain In-termountain Skier. I feel I must let the public see another side to this very opinionated, one-sided account ac-count of windsurfing and windsurfing sailors. Many of the statements are untrue and I don't enjoy reading lies about myself, my friends, or about things that I care about in this case, Windsurfing Wind-surfing Not only did I care about windsurfing, but I know a great deal about the sport. I'm angered to see a reporter, who has no know ledge of the subject, get an article published that makes a mockery out of the sport and the people who enjoy en-joy it. I'd like to present another side of the author's biased opinions. As co-owner of WindSports, a Windsurfing Dealership that my partner and I have opened in Midway, you can be assured that I do know what I'm talking about. Becoming a Certified Windsurfing Wind-surfing Instructor requires a great deal of time and effort ef-fort ; written and oral tests, practice teaching -a complete com-plete knowledge of the sport is demanded, from A to Z. My partner and I spent 2 months in Florida recently, learning the sport thoroughly, from one of the top men in the country, who has written the national teaching progression. If we act like windsurfing professionals who know what we're talking about, it's because we are. Since the uninformer reporter thinks we posses an air of knowing something and won't share it with anyone unless you pay for it let me explain a bit about a windsurfing lesson. The student spends at least a half-hour on the dry land simulator, learning the basics, plus understanding the '"language ot windsun fing". If you don't understand under-stand the language and how to maneuver the board BEFORE you enter the water, you'll fall in the water so much, that vou'll exhaust yourself by pulling the sail out of the water. Once you rc tired, you can't do anything right due to a lack of energy. If a beginner does not take a lesson and tries to learn on her or his own, there is no way an instructor can come up in the middle of everything and help the Ix'Hinner won't know what Ilu- hell the instructor is Continued On Page 9 ARTS FESTIVAL MERCHANDISE The Arts Festival logo is being made available this year to all licensed Park City businesses for use on merchandise of their choice.
