This morning the levee broke, about a mile aud a half below Sacramento city and the water t once began Bpreading over tbo low country extending ex-tending to the bane of the R Btreet levee, which protects the oity on the south. A. targe force of men were at ouce employed to fill the openings in the R street levee where the streets pass through, and the city ia considered con-sidered uow secure, as the only dan ger is from back water. Some water has made its way through the culvert near Sixth street, but will do no damage worth mentioning. Below the city conaiderable damage and inconvenience in-convenience must have bean euflered, but the details are djI yet at hand.
