Show KEEP MARRIAGE SECRET FOR NEARLY A MONTH How a printer "put over a fast one" on the new-gathering staff of his paper was disclosed this week, when it became known that Albert M. Watts, Times-Independent linotype operator, and Miss Kay Hughes, a nurse at the local hospital, had been married for nearly a month, and had not only kept the matter out of print but had kept their friends in ignorance ignor-ance of the fact. Miss Hughes and Mr. Watts were married March 1, the ceremony being performed by Bishop W. D. Hammond. That Bishop Hammond, Ham-mond, County Clerk H. W. Balsley and Deputy Clerk Margie Meyers can keep a secret is proved by the fact that the first news of the wedding was disclosed by the couple themselves. them-selves. The bride is the daughter of Daniel Hughes of Malad, Idaho, and is a registered nurse. She was on the Moab hospital staff for about three months, leaving Monday morning for Salt Lake City. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Watts of Moab, and for several years has been with The Times-Independent. Mr. Watts will join his wife at Salt Lake City about the first of June. The many friends of the young couple extend belated but sincere congratulations. con-gratulations. The above news item taken from The Times-Independent at Moab, of last week, will be of interest to many in Gunnison. "Ab," as he was best known here, was employed in the mechanical me-chanical department of The News for several months and during his residence resi-dence here he made many friends who will join in wishing the newly-weds newly-weds lots of happiness and prosperity. |
