Show ITS WORK OF ELECTED REGULAR MEETINGS TO BE hela FIRST AND THIRD MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH organization of the moab chamber of commerce was completed friday evening at a well attended meeting in the county court house officers for the ensuing year were elected and decision was made to hold regular meetings each month on the first and third mondays the officers elected are president R C dark 1 denta C A robertson and A C folster secretary L L TS aylor i assistant secretary miss margie myers treasurer W fmc conkie board of trustees R J reid W D hammond jl W i coram H J nielsen and C J meador i the committee that had been appointed the week before to i make recommendations as to officers and mode of organization submitted its report the committee consisted of H W balsley chairman and mons peterson R J reid D S L mckorkle and A P voorhies the report of the committee which recommended the election of the officers listed above was adopted unanimously ft president dark and vice presidents robertson and folster were appointed as a committee to draft a constitution and byj laws the dues to be charged will be 25 cents per mont hand an intensive membership drive will be launched with the purpose of vt getting the membership of every citizen of moab and many from J other points in the county A special invitation will bei extended ui to citizens of thompsons Thomp sons cisco castle valley and sego to join the organization which will work for the benefit and ucb building sj of the entire county and southeastern part of the state at the next regular meeting a ast of standing committees will be appointed by the president an effort will be made to appoint men on these committees who will be active and who will give their wholehearted whole hearted effross to the success of the chamber the secretary was authorized to have application cards printed so that they will be available by the first of july the chamber of commerce will officially commence its activities on that date and all dues will start from that time it was decided to hold meetings in the county court house on the first and third mondays of each month at p m members are urged to keep these days in mind as it is essential that all meetings be well attended some discussion of a name for the organization was had and the moab chamber of commerce was finally adopted as the proper designation of the club the chamber went on record as favoring a celebration at moab on the fourth of july and voted to cooperate with the town board in providing a suitable observance of the count rys natal day A lively interest in the work of the chamber was evinced by those who attended friday nights meeting the determination was generally expressed to keep the chamber a vital force in the affairs of the town and county providing a common meeting ground where problems of community interest may be discussed and where united work may be done to promote the interests of southeastern utah the officers appointed are enthusiastic over the outlook for the organization all have agreed to give their best efforts to the interest of the chamber and with a large enthusiastic membership behind them there can be no doubt that the club will be able to accomplish great things for the betterment and advancement of the town and county |
