Hansen, in charge of the meat department of the Peterson Meat & Grocery, was in Richfield Saturday. ; Mr. Hansen was called to attend the I funeral of Mrs. Skougaard Hansen, ! an aunt. j Mrs.. Mac Peterson and children, are enjoying a vacation and are visiting visit-ing for a week or ten days at the home of Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Parkinson, at Rex-burg, Rex-burg, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. George Williams, who joined Mr. and Mrs. L. Ludvigson on a vacation trip to coast points, returned return-ed to their home at Salt Lake Sunday. Sun-day. They were accompanied north by Mr. Ludvigson. Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Peery motored to Salt Lake Saturday morning. After visiting1 over night with relatives they returned Sunday evening. Bayne Fountain, formerly employed employ-ed at a local market, spent Sunday here visiting with friends. Mrs. Rulon Madsen and son, Paul, of Bingham, were house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Madsen several days last week. Mrs. G. M. Burr of Salina, was the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gribble Sunday and Monday of this week. j Ed. Paynter, formerly with the U. S. Swine company, operating in the Gunnison Valley a few years ago, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Paynter, came in from their home at Los Angeles Monday Mon-day and were over-night guests at the Gunnison hotel. The Paynters were enroute to Denver. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Jensen of Eph-raim, Eph-raim, were Gunnison visitors Tuesday. Tues-day. Mrs. Jensen, a sister to Mrs. J. S. Bartholomew, was called here with the announcement of the death of Jodey Bartholomew. I ! G. B. Bateman, route agent for the Railway Express agency, with headquarters head-quarters at Salt Lake, was here for a few hours Wednesday conferring with Ira Overfelt, local agent. Mr. Bateman was returning from an inspection in-spection trip to southern points. Marcus W. Holling, representing the Intertype Corporation, visited the News gang Monday afternoon. Mr. Holling was completing a trip to. Southern Utah and points west in the interests of his company. After visiting the newspaper "boys" in North Sanpete he continued his homeward home-ward trip to Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Madsen were charming host and hostess at dinner and cards at their home Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Twenty-four guests were seated seat-ed for dinner, and a color scheme of pink and white was cleverly carried out in sweet peas. Dinner was served at seven-thirty, following which a spirited game of progressive 500 was ployed. Ladies favors were won by Mrs. Niel Sorenson and Mrs. A. M. Peterson, while D. H. Whittenburg and J. B. Roper captured first and second prizes for the men. |
