Show Thieves Terrorize Westside Residents Bandits, believed to be youths residing re-siding on the west side, are terrorizing terroriz-ing peaceful residents in Clarion and Westview by breaking into homes during the absence of owners, and carrying car-rying away valuables, money and most anything they can lay their hands on. The practice has been going on for some time, but thus far investigators in-vestigators have been unable to locate :he "pirates." Until the robbery of the home of Tom Kuwahara Friday night of last week, no complaint had been made to the officers. The Kuwahara home was entered, according to reports, sometime some-time between 7 and 11 o'clock in the evening, and when the family was absent. ab-sent. The looters carried away $15 in cash, a gold ring valued at $20 and about a dozen sacks of tobacco. Some two weeks ago the Lee De-Mills De-Mills home was broken into and $8 in money and other articles were taken. The worst crime that can be credited cre-dited to the thieves, is that reported report-ed in the robbery of the funds saved by the children for the children's hospital hos-pital at Salt Lake. For months it had been the custom of the children of the primary at Clarion to increase the fund, .each, child contributing an amount equal to his or her age at their birthday. Through this medium i goodly sum in pennies had been stored for the good cause, but the far in which the pennies were stored was carried away. A close investigation is being made to apprehend the vandals, and if aught, due justice will be dealt. , |
