We meet on a quarterly basis to update information. I believe someone else will take care of my family. I know how to apply a splint. I have completed a CERT course. Who in your neighborhood has a generator? Who is a doctor, nurse, or EMT? Who has a backhoe? Who knows how to safely enter a partially collapsed building? Who will be the neighborhood leader? Do you have vs work number of a neighbor’s husband in case you need to notify him of a critical situation with his wife or children? There are so many more questions that can be answered now, but most of us will never consider the need for these answers until it’s ‘00 late. When that day comes, will you be part of the problem or part of the solution? CERT leaders are trying to organize Valley residents but they need willing participants. CERT teaches the lay person how to successfully interact with trained emergency response teams. Once certified you need to take your knowledge back to your neighborhoods and to help formulate a neighborhood plan. r someone else to do it if it’s not being done.
