Show j Alert Officers Boar Down On Lawbreakers A couple of car thieves, one an army deserter and the other a many-times loser with the law, fell victim to the eagle eyes of Sugar House's night police po-lice crew early this week and are now behind b'ars waiting to answer for their deeds. Patrolman Patrol-man E. H. Merrill and L. C. Barrett Bar-rett along with Special Officer Willard DeRose nabbed the pair Monday just as they were heading head-ing out of Luff's station at 17th S. and 7th E. iwhere they had stolen a new car tire and wheel. The arrest cleared up a string of tire and car thefts which the pair had committed starting in New york on May 12 and extending ex-tending right across the country.
