May I add at this point that Gov. Ed's pesentation talk was one of the finest and most inspirational in-spirational talks on Lionism that it has been my pleasure to listen to. From our club we had eight couples, Lions and Lioness Web Richards, Roy Hobbs, Kay Hammond, Mel Boley, J. R. Nichol, Nich-ol, Bob Treagegle, Dell Christen-sen Christen-sen and Mel Wright. May we extend to the Salt Lake City Lions our thanks for the much improved service on our Holladay route. The new big buses make traveling back and forth to town much more enjoyable. The new benches installed in-stalled at a few of the corners have made waiting for the buses a little more pleasant, too. Thanks again for your cooperation, coopera-tion, gentlemen. We appreciate it very much. (Gene) Cardwell. Lion Gene was one of the new members mem-bers of our club and although he had only been in a few months ' he hac'i the true spirit o;f Lionism and co operation. Gene died in the Mayo clinic, Rochester, Minn., after a lingering linger-ing illness. Flying from Salt Lake City, his entire family was at his bedside at the time of his death. He was born Feb. 8, 1917, in Salt Lake City, a son of Ernest A. and Elizabeth A Speight Cardwell. He married Mary Goff June 17, 1939, in Salt Lake L. D. S. temple. He was co-partner of the Card-well Card-well Bros, service station in Holladay. Hol-laday. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Monday in Parleys ward chap-1 el.
