A Lang was eliminated on the first ballot by the Republican State Central Committee which saw Mr lead Dr Wilkinson Wil wn- kinson by only three votes 33 to 30 The runoff on the top two candidates brought a 39 34 margin Dr Wilkinson was a surprise opponent presented in nomination nomination atlon only minutes before the meeting He lie Je promised full support support sup sup- port to the successful candidate He lie had been placed In hi nomination nomina tion by Utah County Chair Chair- man Robert Bullock Mr M. Lang was nominated by by Salt Lake County's George Gregerson Former Fonner Utah Congressman Con gressman William A A.
