Show DEATH OF OTTO CHIPMAN i an esteemed correspondent of the NEWS writing from palmerston Palme raton north new zealand under date of sept 6 has this to say ol of elder otto chipman whose death was referred to in yesterdays issue on sept lot ast a telegram was wae received from president W T stewart inform ing us ot of the toad sad death of elder otto chipman which occurred at huntley in the waikato district on the of august no particulars have been received of his sickness and we can scarcely realism realise that he be bas baa been called away elder chipman left salt bait lake city on the first day of february 1892 RD and d landed in now new zealand on the day of the same month he was appointed to labor in the waikato district and was wag present at the annual conference april esth during the voyage across the pacific be endeared himself to his bis travel traveling liag companions by his amiable and quiet disposition he was wais very studious stua ious anti and well qualified for his minion he manifested a great desire to accomplish good and would undoubtedly have acquired the language in a short time as be was making very rapid progress the elders who were present at the hawkes bay conference drafted resolutions of condolence to be forwarded to co the bereaved family and prayers were offered that the spirit of god might comfort the young widow anti and prepare her mind fur for the sad news of her hus husbands bandIs death our beloved brother has been called to labor in a higher sphere and he be will undoubtedly receive the blessings awaiting the faithful may gd comfort the hearts of the bereaved family and console them with the thought that be is not lost but gone before P 1 |
