Show H THE TRIBUNE'S CARPENTER DEPARTMENT. B That was a rather weird importation the Trib- B une made when the present artist of the paper was HB consigned to Zlon from the national capital. His work is chiefly distinguished by the elaborate B amount of ink with which he disfigures the frontal H page of that sheet of retrogression. Still it must H be confessed that his artistic ventures compare favorably with the literary environment. The art- 1st also, it must be admitted, has his good points. H Careful scrutiny of his recent work indicates that 1 he would make a fust class carpenter, or if that 1 line of toil proved too great a jar to his artistic temperament, he might be impressed into service HB as a maker of blue prints. Finally, however much H ante-breakfast anguish he inflicts upon us, it is but 1 just to commend his industry. If the tools wren H which he is now working are becoming old and obsolete, we would suggest that he cast them aside H for a season and experiment with silhouettes. H He makes it very clear that perfect art is art H concealed. |
