R., we found that certain ehanges for the better had been made on this road since we last passed over it. At -i p.m., after going through some magnlflcentscenery, including Spanish Fork canyon, ko arrived at Soldier Summit, where we round some snowdrifts, also enow banks as the result of tho "beautiful' that had drifted under the enow sheds. Near the rnoutii of tho canyon tho service bvrry bushes were with bloom, but at the summit tho leaves bad not yit made an appearance. Front here we passed down to Trice River, which finds its leel in the Pacific. Ocean. At fifteen m!mitesrt four the same afternoon We landed nt P. V. Junction, ninety-eight miles distant-from Salt Lake City, and 517 miles from I'ueblo, which Is still farther east. Catlu Gate may certainly bo tenmd 'a freak of nature." Wo arrived ar-rived at Trice at 5:35 iem. and were there met aud kindly received by Bishop George Frandscn. Trice Ward numbers about four hundred Saints, who nn mtt.i-mt over some fifteen miles of country. A bowery Is being prepared lu front of the log meeting housofor tho holding of .Emery Stake conference, and the people are looking forward to a good time. A schoolbouse of adobles is situated In tho public square. The wheat prospects are said to bo good Corn, potatoes, melons, etc, are produced here abundantly.
