Show THE NEAPOLITAN CONCERT An Artistic Entertainment Thnt Deserved More Liberal Patronage The concert given by the Neapolitan Quintette club at the Congregational church last evening was not financially a success but artistically it was such as deserved a greater audienco than was in attendance Their music the beautiful and dainty strains as emitted from their mandolins and guitars pleased tho audience as was demonstrated by the applause ap-plause at the conclusion of the various selections The violin duet of Master Hermann Schettler and Miss Esther Allen was excellent ex-cellent and their efforts met with the approbation of the audience and were heartily applauded Mr Beesley for some reason did not appear Miss Hallie a late acquisition to musical mu-sical circles formerly of Kansas City sang splendidly and responded to an encore en-core by rendering Last Night The lady was the recipient of a lovely floral gift as a memento of her first appearance in our city Professor Kadcliffe again demonstrated his mastery of the organ key board as was shown in his selection Gottachalks Last Hope was given as an encore its chromatic runs being rendered particularly effective with flute instrumentation larly efective fute instrumenttion Mr Bert L Havens Journey Is Long was peculiarly adapted to his voice which was shown to advantage an encore being demanded Lindsays Far Away was given in splendid manner Master Herman Schett lers violin solo was worthy of commendation commen-dation and the young man came in for a fair share of the applause The concert was given under the patronage pa-tronage of the Ladies Aid society |
