Show WOMAN FOUND IN BEAVER MOUNTAINS AFTER 24-HOUR ORDEAL IN WILDS A Sevier County grandmother, missing 24 hours in a heavily forested for-ested area east of Beaver, was found by searchers Sunday afternoon, after-noon, apparently none the worse for her experience. Mrs. Mary Jane Jewell, 79, wife of George Jewell, a Monroe plumber, plum-ber, was discovered by three youths about a half mile southeast of a rugged area near Kent's Lake where she disappeared Saturday afternoon. She had walked u and down mountains anil crawled down cliff ; and ledges for more than 15 miles, according to an estimate esti-mate 'by Sheriff Lee It. Fillmore. Fill-more. About 150 searchers, mounted and afoot, were combing the Kent's Lake area when the missing miss-ing woman' was located by Larry Warby, 13; Roland Yardley and Fred Erickson, both 16, all of Beaver. Sheriff Fillmore said Mr. and Mrs. Jewell had driven into the Kent's Lake area Thursday and had established a camp to the east of the small lake, about 100 yards inland. About 2:30 p. m. Saturday Mrs. Jewell disappeared while returning return-ing to camp from the south end of the lake. Sunday volunteer searchers from throughout the county joined in the search, and continued con-tinued looking for Mrs. Jewell until she was found. She apparently .spent the night without shelter and told rescuers she had not eaten during the time she was lost. "But I feel like a million," she said. She was taken back to camp by Mr. and Mrs. Garth Penney and Charles Atkin, Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Jewell were returned to their home in Monroe Sunday iby a daughter, Mrs. Nelson Macier of Richfield.
