Show NOT IN DANGER Congressman Colton Assures Chamber of Commerce Funds to Be Provided The new road bill to be introduced in congress will not affect the $6,500.-000 $6,500.-000 road appropriation, according to S letter received by Secretary Jesse S. Richards of the Ogden chamber of i commerce from Congressman Don E. Colton at Washington. The communication follows: ' I am In receipt of your letter of December 18, relative to the appropriation appro-priation for the fiscal year for the building of roads and trails In the national na-tional forests. Having received a great many telegrams concerning this matter. I liavo carefully gone Into It. "It is true that the act approved June. 1922. authorized an appropriation appropria-tion of $0,600,000 this year for the construction of roads and trails, and while this bill does not carry a total appropriation of $6.500.0i0, but an appropriation of $3,000,000, nevertheless never-theless It will not in any way interfere inter-fere with tho road building prograb. However, tho bill does authorize the department of agriculture to go rlgnt ahead with the building program so that the states which are progressing on their road program can withdraw the total amount allowed to them it any time at any time when they have compiled with the terms of the contract. con-tract. WORK TO GO ON. "This amount of $3,000,000 carried In the appropriation bill will permit construction work to proceed as outlined out-lined in the various national forests now. It Is not contemplated that there will bo any curtailment whatever In this work.
