G. L. Becker was born April 7. 1858, at Winona, -Minnesota, his parents par-ents being John S. and Mrs. Maria EC Becker. His father, who has since died, was born in Baden Germany, and on December 26, 1829 emigrated to the United States at the age of 16 because of his displeasure with Prus-slanlsm. Prus-slanlsm. Tho elder Becker became one of tho early settlers at "Winona. Minn., where he erected one of the first manufacturing plants. living there until 1890 when he came to ogden. where his sons, G L.. Becki t 'and A. E Becker had established a business, and he lived In Ogden until his death In 1918. G. L. Becker received his education educa-tion at the Winona, Minn. high school nnd then at lambrls college He entered business Immediately after af-ter being graduated from the latter Institution and has continued In business busi-ness ever since. In 1890 he established estab-lished the Becker Brewin.& Malting company of Ogden, which Is now known as the Becker Products company. com-pany.
