Show I THE NEW GAZETTEER. B The Utah State Gazetteer, and Business Direc- H tory( second edition, is at hand, published by R. Mr' L. Polk and Co., and it is something that every I business and professional man in the state should H have. H' This edition contains 811 pages as against G69 B in the first edition, which was issued in 1900. We B would particularly call your attention to the four B separate and distinct departments of this work: B pages 49 to 82 consist of a full and complete list B of the State Officers, State Boards, State Judicl-B Judicl-B ary State Institutions, National Guard of Utah, I State Legislature, County Seats and Officers, the B Utah Public School Directory (including a list of H the City and County Superineudents of Schools, H Boards of Education, School Districts and Trus-H Trus-H tees, and all of the school teachers of the State). Bi In this department will also be found a full anc B complete list of the United Staea officers located H in Utah, and a list of the post offices of the state H (corrected to date) ; also a list of the railroads of B Utah, with the names of the express companies B onerntine over them. B Tue second section of the work (pages 83 to B lfi!)) consists of a list of all the cities, villages, B Port offices, railroad stations and settlements in Bi the state, with a descriptive sketch of each place, m showing their location and topography, popula-B popula-B tipn and resources, with the names of all business K and professional men following under the, sketch B or write-up for each place. Bi The tnlrd section of the work (pages 470 to B C22) contains the names of all the farmers and j land owners of the state, arranged by counties, B giving the number of acces owned, assessed val-B val-B uation of same, and owner's post office address. B The fourth section of the work (pages 623 to B 828) contains a general classified list of all the irt-H irt-H dustrjes and productions of the state, including all B ie trades, professions, manufactures and pur-B pur-B suits, as well as a list of all the justices of the B peace, constables, etc. Here each line of trade B aml profession is arranged in alphabetical order, B w'tn an alphabetical arrangement of the post of B fice following, and the names of all persons op-B op-B posite. B Tne Utah State Gazetteer is identical with jB similar works published generally for all the K states and territories throughout the Union by the B same company, except that this work includes a B list of the land owners, farmers' and tax payers, H which have been obtained and compiled from of-H of-H ficial records. This work covers the entire state B of Utah, and represents over 300,000 people, who B dwell in the state. |
