Applications must be completed by Mar-ch 5, 2001 and turned in to the Juniper Hall office by 5:00 pm. 1605 WEST REGENCY (IN TIIE Southern Utah Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Eric Houle announced the signing of three more athletes to National Letters of Intent, bringing the total to 11 new athletes who will compete for the Thunderbirds next season. The Thunderbirds signed distance runner Jared Bailey out of Weber High School in North Ogden, Utah. Bailey took seventh in the state 4A cross country championships last fall . SUU also signed Brian Nelson from Utah's American Fork House receives Johnson named Mid-·c on honor player of week . Southern Utah senior Fred House guided his team back into first place with wins over Youngstown State and Oakland. In the win against Youngstown State House tallied a game-high 19 points, grabbed three rebounds and collected four steals. Two nights later against Oakland, the senior forward put together an outstanding performance with 22 points, nine rebounds, three steals and a block. He shot 8-of-14 from the field , and 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the victory. House has scored in double figures in 12 straight games. House has helped lead SUU to a 21-5 overall record , putting the 'Birds in first place in the Mid-Continent Conference. House will be in action again Saturday night as the Thunderbirds host Oral Roberts University at 7:35 p.m. in the Centrum Arena before beginning the MidCon tournament Mar. 2. Johnson scored 13 points while dishing out nine assists and adding four steals in the Thunderbirds' 81-51 win over then co-league leader Oakland. She followed up that performance by netting 16 points and distributing 10 assists for her first double-double of the season against Youngstown State: Johnson averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 assists per game last week, while also hitting 69 percent ( 11-16) of her shots from the floor. She has moved into second place on Southern Utah's career assists list. Johnson will be. on the floor again Saturday as the Lady Thunderbirds face Oral Roberts University before beginning Mid-Continent Conference tournament action on Mar. 2 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
