Show Letters to the a Editor for 1 Apparently some R Repudiation d. d epu IOn la-IOn on s student in in the university university uni- uni uni- uni has yet to learn that charging a single person or a campus group of corruption is is a avery avery avery very serious charge especially when the one levying the charges has not even a smattering of testimony or proof with which to back up his statements Such a person submitted an article to the Chronicle last week in which he accused George Schramm Homecoming week co-chairman co of fixing each competitive event of the celebration so that the particular organization to which he Schramm belonged might walk off with the Homecoming sweep- sweep steaks prize However the author of that article failed utterly to present any specific evidence He preferred to say that prizes were given to organizations sponsoring spon exhibits that were vere recognized as inferior by the students and alumni at large BY WHAT STUDENTS AND BY WHAT ALUMNI may I ask The Theauthor author of declined course to say j It is interesting to note that the article was signed by a J Johnny Stevens It The registrar reports two students of that name registered inthe in inthe inthe the university and both vigorously DENY writing the article Lest my article be as baseless and able as I last st weeks week's disgrace I am printing actual actual actual ac ac- quotations from those unfair judges who selected the Homecoming w winners First Miss Aurelia Bennion alumni association association association tion secretary had this to say I III did not not recognize recognize recognize rec rec- any of the organizations by their bits We Ve judged according to numbers and generally agreed on all the prize winners so I 1 cant can't see any basis for the accusations I did not know that Mr Schramm was a Sigma Chi C. C E. E Wright university professor and another another another an an- other of the judges exclaimed The liThe judges were unanimous in most cases I am personally personally personally person person- ally not affiliated and did not recognize any of the organizations Irving Fisher parade judge and of the Z C.
