Show AN AGED CLAIMANT DYING. Tho Ensenads Land Grant Case Will Remain Re-main Unsettled. Sax Diego, Nov. 22. The widowed Sen-ora Sen-ora Isabel Ruiz de Maytorena is dying here, in her 67th year, without having settled her claim to the Ensenada grant of 122,000 acres In Lower California, which she claims by inheritance from her father, Colonel Don Manuel Ruiz, an officer of the Mexican cavulry service, who was given the grant as a reward for distinguished services. The suit against her only daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Burton, of this city, to restore the patent to this tract, which she claims was secured by fraud, is now pending. Shortly after the papers were filed to recover the patent, pa-tent, Mrs. Burton left for Mexico City, wheie she now is. The invalid has requested the last sacraments, sacra-ments, and although gradually failing, re-itirates re-itirates the wrong done her by her own daughter. It is presumed that her will transmits this claim to her son Frederico, who is with her, and that this celebrated case will continue to be heard from. |
