Show County Tax Levies Sliced Nearly a Mill' The task of fixing the tax levies for the taxing districts in Sanpete county for 1931, has been completed by the Sanpete board of county commissioners, com-missioners, and the story was released releas-ed last week. The county levy for the current year was fixed at C.l mills, a decrease de-crease of .9 of a mill over last ye; r. The county general fund is 1.8 mills; poor fund, .5; fair fund, .1; old ago pension fund, .1 ; widowed mother's fund, .4. These levies are the same as 1930, except the widowed mother'?! fund, .1 of a mill higher, and county fair fund, .1 of a mill lower than last year. The county road fund is 1.5 mills this year, as compared with 1.8 mills for last year; interest and redemption of road bonds, 1.7 mills, or .6 of a mill lower than last year. The assessed valuation of Sanpeto county is $12,389,597. The county taxes this year will be approximately $75,600, as compared with 891,450 for 1930. The tax levy for the state road fund this year is 2.6 mills and lr.st year it was 1.7 mills. This increase is due to the extensive road program being carried out in this county, which includes oiling of the road from Manti to Qunnison, construction construc-tion and oiling of the Pig-eon Hollow-Moroni Hollow-Moroni road, regravelhig and oiling from Pigeon Hollow to Spring City, construction and oiling of the Gumri-son-Nine Mile road and graveling of of the Indianola road. The levy for the North Sanpee school district, is placed at 13.7 mills, an increase of .9 of a mill over 1930 in the maintenance fund. The total taxes for North Sanpete school district dis-trict will be approximately $85,850. The levy for the South Sanpete school district is 10.8 mills, a decrease of 2.2 mills in the maintenance fund. The total taxes for South Sanpete, school district will be about $65,350, which is a reduction of approximately $10,-775 $10,-775 as compared with last year. The special liounty tax on sheep and goats at 5 mills; range horses and cattle at 2 mills, and the special tubercular indemnity tax on domestic domes-tic cattle at 3 mills, remain the same as last year. The total tax levies for all purposes pur-poses in each of the taxing districts are as follows: North Sanpete school district, 30.6 mills; Mount Pleasant, 13.0 mills; Spring City, 47.6 mill.-; Moroni, 46.6 mills; Fountain Green, 11.6 mills.
