Reports from San Francisco are unanimous un-animous as lo the great need of food and bedding. 300,000 people are homeless home-less and despite the generous donations dona-tions of cities far and near, suillclent food can not be obtained, and covering cover-ing tor those who must sleep In the parks and on the hillsides is not to be had. There Is need of Instant action on the part of those on whom a kindly Providence continues to smile. The San Franciscans need help NOW, and certainly the residents of this fair city and valley will be glad to meet the necessity as far as Is within their power. ' Prominent citi.ens, relying on the generosity and big hcartedut-ss of this people, have already sent one and a half car loads of flour and sugar and one-half car of condensed milk. It Is now the desire that one more car be sent TODAY. The Wilkinson building on Main street has been secured se-cured and It Is urged that tho whole populace of this city and county respond re-spond with such donations of potatoes, Hour, quilts, blankets, comforts, clothinganything cloth-inganything In any quantity that Is shlppable and of use In San Francisco at this time. Clerks will be at this building and will receive the goods, and take the names of the donors. A list of which will be published later.' Contributions of money will bo received re-ceived there also.
