Show A MOTHER'S PRAYER. Once, sajs a writer, 1 suddenly opened tho door of my mother's room and saw heron hci knees beside her chair, and heard her speak my name In prayer. I quickly and quietly withdrew with-drew with a feeling of awe and reverence rever-ence In my heart. Soon 1 went away from homo and school, and to college, and then Into life's sterner duties. Hut I never forgot that one glimpse of mother In prayer, nor the one word my own name which I heard her utter. Well did 1 know what 1 had seen that day was but a glimpse of what was going on every day In that sicred closet of piayer, and the consciousness con-sciousness strengthened me a thousand thous-and time in duty, In danger, and In struggle. When death came at last and scaled those lips, the sorest sense of loss I felt was the knowledge that no more would my mother be praying for me |
