Three local teams, including the state champion Pleasant Grove Nationals, will be among the field of the 1983 Rocky Mountain title last week in Salt Lake, while SAG Short Stop finished fourth. The top six teams received automatic bids to the Regionals. Interstate Transmission finished second in the Pleasant Grove League and was eliminated late in the state tourney, got an bid. Friday schedule has Interstate Transmisson opening the tourney against Crested Butte, Wyoming at 5 p.m. The Nationals face Brad's Hot Shot (Wyoming) at 8 p.m. and SAG Short Stop takes on U.S. Energy (Wyoming) at 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday the games start at 9 a.m., with the title tilt set for 2 p.m. Sunday. Regional Men's Class B Fast Pitch Division tournament Friday through Sunday at Shannon Field in the Rodeo Grounds complex in Pleasant Grove. SAG Short Stop from Spanish Fork and Interstate Transmission from Orem will join the "Nationals and 13 other teams from Utah, Colorado and Wyoming in the double elimination tourney to battle for a spot in the nationals in California later this month.
