Show saving: Fund Versus isanlx. The New York Recorder tells a story of a young mau who was induced to join a loan associaf;ion, although somewhat skeptical of ibti iie resolved as a test to put by $10 a month in th6 loan association and a similar sum each month in a savings bank. At the end of 1 0 years he balanced his cash and found that he had $1,800 to his credit in tha association and only 81 in the bank. This is accounted f qr by two circumstances,' circum-stances,' one being the dread cf fines if delinquent in the association, the other being that the book value of his association associ-ation stonk was always so far ahead of the savings bank "account that when hr wished to expend any money he found it much less expensive to draw it out of" the bank, hence would not disturb bi hares in the association. |
