Show THE GOLDFIELD BLUE BELL consolidation consummated with famous old stokes mine at berlin special correspondence goldfield nevada dec IS 18 on the day of august of this year a consolidation was perfected between the goldfield blue bell company of goldfield and the properties belonging to the stokes estate situated county nevada the goldfield at berlin nye blue bell company which was one of the first companies of goldfield and which lias has been an active trader for a small stock increased its capitalization to besides giving a large cash consideration in order to take over the properties belonging to the stokes estate consisting of some thirty patented claims and on the main group known as the berlin group we have a thirty stamp mill twenty five miles of pipe line with ranches and water rights large store office hospital macline machine shops electric light plant and our hoisting engine I 1 judge 0 is one of the very best of its kind being a horsepower corliss engine this property had a large production un der the stokes management owing to various causes however the stokes people saw fit to make a change and this consolidation was perfected as stated above mr S T pearson who is the president of the blue bell company was formerly general manager of the stokes estate and ran the property in question and during his management the property made one of its largest productions netting as high as twenty odd thousand dollars per month mr pearson immediately upon the consolidation took active charge of the property there and started to put the various things in order that were necessary that is in the way of making the necessary repairs to the batteries and pipe line we commenced our operations there about the day of september and got in good running order about the first day of october when we took the property over there were some 2000 odd tons of ore that was left on the dumps and in the bins which gave an average of around 10 per ton our mill equipment being thirty stamps plates and banners van ners with no cyaniding cyan iding mr pearson was fortunate enough to get the services of an excellent mill man who was formerly with him by the name of trenholm the first cleanup clean up was made on the first day of november this being for the october run and our ore showed an average of some 10 per ton and our tailings running a little less than 80 cents per ton giving us a reduction of about 92 per cent the first cleanup clean up amounted to approximately and as yet I 1 have not received the cleanup clean up for the month of november A new ore body was opened up on the level averaging about ten feet in width the assay sample showing being ounces in silver and nearly three ounces in gold this of course is an assay sample and not a general average however the way the ore is running through the mill from my various reports I 1 am of the 0 opinion that it must be averaging around 25 to 30 per ton we have good ore opened up on the and levels showing quite a supply of ore without further development the maps left us by the stokes estate show a good grade of ore and a large quantity of ore on the level however on our taking over the property it was filled with water to about the level this has been reduced to below the level now and before the end of the month we should be working on the level and extracting the ore on that level which averages from reports given us by the stokes estate around 25 per ton besides this we have the richmond property situated one mile from the berlin property and which is developed to a larg degree with a large body of good milling ore in sight which will be taken care of as soon as we can arrange arrant ge to do so there is also the shamrock group which is developed with a large quantity of good ore in sight besides this we have the downieville Downie Down leville ville and sullivan properties being lead silver and iron properties and as soon as the smelter being built by the lodi mines company is completed we will have a good market for these ores what has heretofore not been done in th the e treating of outside ores many of the prospectors and residents around the section of our mine have large quantities of ore that will run around 30 or 40 per ton but have never been able to get the former management to mill their ores and the freight charges being so great they have been unable to do anything with same we are now making a rate of per ton net on this ore and giving them the total cleanup clean up we expect to keep five stamps on custom work and if we can keep the five stamps running through 11 1 1 the month the charge on this custom ore will take care of our operating expenses or very nearly so we are just now getting into good running order and we expect to make a production of at least per month or better the success of this property is largely due to the conservative management of mr S T pearson president and manager who through his former experience with this property is well acquainted with the character of the ores as well as the character of the country and through his executive ability I 1 believe we have in this one of the best little milling propositions around the northern section of nye county and added to the goldfield blue bell company under which name it now stands it has taken the goldfield blue bell company out of the list of prospects and put it in the ranks of the pro dubers W H WHITMORE |
