Show THE NEW YORK ARIZONA mr A J lupton representative in salt lake for the western Ee roofing company of denver colorado has returned from a trip to the property of the new york arizona gold copper company located in the morenci district of arizona during the late panicky times developments at the company mines have progressed steadily and from present indications these labors are about to be rewarded on the louise claim there is a shaft down eighty feet in which is disclosed an eight inch vein assaying fifteen per cent copper one ounce in gold and ounces in silver per ton this shaft is equipped with a fifteen H P fairbanks morse gasoline hoist but owing to the water flow work has been discontinued here for the present within feet of this shaft is the thompson tunnel which has been driven for a distance of feet opening up i a four foot vein of ore averaging between 10 and 20 in gold per ton the buzzard shadow lies on the eastern boundary of the companas comp anys territory and it was here that a great deal of rich ore was found in the early days the buzzard shadow vein is well defined and has been worked near the surface in several places the intersection of this vein and the lillian ledge is the objective point for the lillian tunnel which is now in over feet and a splendid C ore cre re body is expected when the connection is made at a points point feet in the tunnel and at feet vertical depth from six to eight feet of ore was encountered which assayed from 20 to 80 the ledge was very much shattered and leached beached and with depth should make into something fine work is being pushed in this tunnel and it is expected that the desired point will be reached sometime in january there are several other workings on the property and all give good indications of a bi big mine mr lupton made a thorough inspection action of the property and is more than pleased I 1 A with the showing being made under the present economical and systematic management he predicts that the new york arizona will develop into one of the leaders of the morenci district |
