Griffith were honored with a surprise party recently by members of the Lions Club In honor of the couples Golden Wedding anniversary. 50TH ANNIVERSARY Chap erones Discuss AFS Tour Bill Hutchison of Portland, Ore., who served as a chaperone on the American Field Service bus tour which visited Brigham City last summer, was calling on friends in Brigham City on Monday of last week. He was accompanied by a friend, Art Erickson, of Salem, Ore., studentbody vice president of the University of Oregon. Both are graduates of the University of Oregon, where Hutchison also was a student-bodofficer during the past school year. The twosome called on the family of Dr. and Mrs. Howard Rasmussen, whom Hutchison stayed with last summer during the AFS visit here. Griffith were surprised on June 11, their Golden Wedding date, by a group of friends from the Lions club. The friends came bearing a beautiful wedding cake and refreshments. SoroptimistClub Elects Officers At Dinner Meet Women to Host Husbands With Outdoor Dinner Women of the Community Presbyterian church will host their husbands at a summer barbecue dinner at the Protestant Student Center patio on Tuesday, June 25, beginning at 6:30 p. m. General chairman for the event is Mrs. Maynard Nelsen, who reports that the event will be strickly social without a business meeting. Games and fun are planned under the direction of Mrs. Maurice Bandy, program chairman. Informal dress will be in style. EACH COUPLE Is asked to bring their own hamburgers or hotdogs and buns, along with a casserole, salad or pie to share in potluck manner, and their own silverware and cups.
