HORSE BACKER INTO DAM the accident at the power dam in ogden canyon on sunday in which a valuable horse belonging to M E wll cox backed into the dam and was I 1 drowned was of rather a peculiar nature it seems that at the fiumef when the accident occurred mr wilcox was out of the buggy ln which there was a young jadv and that while he was away from the horse the ring on the eide of tho bridle became caught on the shaft in some way the horse in its endeavor to release its head began to bach and continued to do so until near the brink of the dam at which point the young lady jumped but the horse had gone too far and suddenly crashed over the dam and was lost to view although mr wilcox remained around the dam tor some time the horse dad not rise and he was compelled to leava the place as nothing could be done that night on monday morning mr wilcox went to the dam and with the assistance of several men succeeded in raising the body of the horse which was away and burled
