Show S. H. BPW Women Miss Lois K. Thompson 838 7th Avenue, Salt Lake City, a Junior at West High School, was sponsored to Girl's State by the Sugar House BPW Club. She will give a report of her activities at Girls State at the July Stb Meeting and show us her wonderful wonder-ful Scrap Book. She was secretary of the Junior Jun-ior Class, is a member of the Teenage Cotillion Club, member of the Decorations Club, a Big Sister, Sis-ter, member of the WAG Association, Assoc-iation, also plays the piano and accordion. She wishes to go to college and train to be a school teacher. She reports that in one short week the girls really learned about the functions of government and actually participated in elections, campaigns, and performing duties in various capacities of government govern-ment while at Girl's State. She says the girls really grew up in that week. This experience is one which she feels had a great influence in-fluence on her life. She was one of the few girls who won a four year scholarship to the Utah State College. She is a really outstanding outstand-ing young lady . And the Sugar House BPW Club is proud to have had the opportunity to provide this wonderful experience for such a marvelous girl. MISS ADA BURT ON PANEL AT LAS VEGAS CONVENTION Miss Ada Burt, past president of the Sugar House BPW Chapter and past president of the State Organization, and at present the national chairman of Security, will discuss "Values of BPW Clubs Working with the Community" at the Las Vegas meeting of the group. A question and answer period from the audience will follow. fol-low. BPW encourages young women to become executives, not just working women. Miss Burt will go from Las Vegas to Phoenix to attend the last regional meeting of BPW to be held on July 16-59. |
