Show OBITUARY NOTES ROBERT robert wilson son of william and catherine wilson was born april 1819 1811 at lightwood Ligh lwood green Flint shire wales he was a descendant of a very old family his father died when he was very young leaving the mother with a family of eleven children ho he being the tenth he received the gospel in his native land was baptized september 18 1840 by henry royle being one of three who were the first to receive the truth in the conference emigrated to america the following year working ir his way across the ocean arriving at kirtland he performed a mission of about out one year in the stati stat 4 of ohio and vicinity vici nily was married on the of june 1843 to mary ann point by thomas dutcher his traveling companion settled in montrose and was at nauvoo during the bombardment bar dment of that city he drove an ox team across the plains for john 8 fullmer lu la the year 1847 or 48 having lett left his wife behind she being unwilling to come with him though she came to the valley the following year in 1849 he went to california being quite successful in mining in the year 1852 he be returned via the pacific ocean crossing the isthmus of panama on horse horseback back and sailing to now new york then he went to ohio to visit relatives and purchased an on fit at chicado with which to cross the plainy and brought sixteen of his hia relatives to utah in the spring ot of 1858 his wife and friends friend went on to california he afterward married three wives and lived at salt lake city a short time moving from there to Kay eville in davis county went out to meet one of the handcart companies was also out in echo canyon to meet johnson and his army under horton D Dja haight ight now president resident of the cassia state ate ot zion B during aring that campaign he with two or three others went with salt sait to general johnson sent by president young a as the soldiers were dying for the need of it to use on their meat etc but the general would not accept of it ft yet it was unloaded near by so that the soldiers went out and got it they also had a message from fro n president young to general johnson Joh naon stating that he had his mule fine and fat lor for him to ride back on in the spring iff in the year 1861 he was sent on a mis sion to help colonize the dixie country but was taken sick with the chills and fever and had to return leaving one of Ms his wives and her children there he then went to ogden valley in weber county removing from there in the year 1872 he settled at harrisville in the same county and was one of the high council in the weber stake also acting as a home missionary in the stake in the spring of 1882 he moved to oakley Oakle yin in cassis cassia county idaho and at the organ of the seventy y eighth quorum of seventy he was set apart as the senior president of that quorum augrum at the organization of ah the e cassis cassia stake he was ordained patriarch of that stake which position he be held until his death which occurred on the of september 1895 being exactly 55 bogn from the day he was baptized ile he started on a mission to england on the of february Feb roary 1886 performed a successful mission of twenty months returning home in october 1888 he was the husband of four wives wivel the father of thirty nine n ing children twenty four sons and fifteen daugh daughters tem and leaves two wives twenty six children sixty eight grandchildren four great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his loss he died as he be bad lived a faithful latter day saint being in the year of his life millennial star please copy K R L |
