Rumbaugh, superintendent of the Guffey & Galey well, announces that the well has been abandoned at the depth of 2200 feet. . The difficulty during the sinking of the well has been to keep the bore true. It . is no longer possible to do this, and the rotary will no longer work. The casing Is now being withdrawn from the well, and within a few days the rig will be torn down and housed for the winter. s Mr. Rumbaugh and his party will spend the winter in Texas and work will be resumed re-sumed next spring. , 0BJ2 THIEVES FLOURISH. As far as ore-stealing goes, Goldcld Is " getting to resemble Cripple Creek In the old days. In fact, the told-tlme Cripple Creek grafters are -coming in In great numbers and are all cleaning up a nice wad. ,' Recent arrivals from Goldfield state that at several properties the entire shift has V been discharged for ore-stealing. The - Goldfield ore is so rich and the gold appears ap-pears In It in so free a state that it is the easiest thing In the world to crush it and pan the gold. Gold dust is easily disposed of and is very hard to trace. One man who attempted to take a selected se-lected bunch of rich ore out in trunks -was caught, but few are foolish enough to take such chances with the ore In bulk. BULLION" OUTPUT.
