Show hUNTINGTON COMING President of the Southern Pacific nouiiil For the Coast Within the next day or two President Presi-dent Collie P Huntington of the Southern Pacific will pass through Utah on his annual trip to California Commencing at Ogden he will make a thorough Inspection of the Southern Pacific system and probably remain In California for the next three months He is accompanied by his daughter the Princess Hatzfelt and the prince Good AVcstliouml Business The expected influx of eastern people peo-ple into California has set in but the local agents of the eastern roads say that it is too early for San Francisco to expect many arrivals It is learned that the eastern roads are all sending their passengers to the southern part tx of the state and in a month or six weeks the easterners will begin to flock to San Francisco A few are already al-ready coming up from the south In evidence of this fact the Southern Pacific Pa-cific 13 now running four Pullman sleepers on its trains between Los Angeles An-geles and here says the San Francisco Francis-co Examiner as against one or two the usual number and they are all l well filled Passenger traffic between here and the east is slacker than it has been known to be in many months Railroad Notes General Freight Agent S H Babcock Bab-cock of the Rio Grande Western left last evning for California on a weeks business trip The southern California ornage crop will soon be ready for shipment and Mr Babcock will secure his share of the consignments east It Is expected that the Utah Midwinter Mid-winter fair exhibits will be shipped from Salt Lake for San Francisco tomorrow to-morrow Assistant General Freight Agent S W Eccles Is having prepared statements state-ments showing Utahs salt wool and ore outputs for 1892 and 1893 |
