Show FILLMORE TOPS IN GOLD MEDAL TOURNAMENT A smooth-working Fillmore All-Star quntet walked away with top honors in Milford's second Gold Medal Easketball Tournament last week, and the Fillmore players took most of the top individual honors as well. Behind Fillmore in the final standings were Minersville, second; sec-ond; Cedar Institute, third; Milford First Ward, fourth; C S U All-Stars, fifth, and the Milford Misfits, sixth. Russell Hillman of Fillmore was named outstanding player cf the tourney; Peterson o'f Fillmore, Fill-more, second, and Hay ward Mai.-hall, Minersville, third. H'llman had high score for the tourney, Gillins of Minersville, Miners-ville, high single game, and Jones of Fillmore was selected outstanding defensive player. Monty Ashworth of Milford received the award for making the ''freakiest shot" of the tournament. |
