Show MINERSVILLE CREEK TO BE OPEN FOR FISHING Minersville Creek will be open to fisherman this year, with "No Trespassing" restrictions restric-tions on a portion of the stream removed for the fishing season, it was announced this week by Dick Foerster. Mr. Foerster hod met with Shirl Carter, custodian cus-todian of the farm immediately below the dam, as a representative representa-tive cf the Milford Wildlife Protective Pro-tective Association. The stream will be open for fishermen for 25 feet on each side, but sportsmen must enter either at the dam or at the large bend below the farm. They will not be permitted to cross the private land to reach the stream. Opening of the entire stream to fishermen removes the final obstacle, and the State Fish and Game department will now be able to stock the stream, and it is expected they will install a screen at the lower end of the creek to keep game 'fish out of the irrigation ditches. At a meeting Saturday evening eve-ning attended by State Game officials, it was announced that Merrill Gray, government trapper, trap-per, has killed "several" foxes in South Milford, in a promised drive against these pheasant predatois. This welcome announcement an-nouncement was made by Bill Nichols, president of the local game club. Mr. Nichols also announced that 30,000 German browns have recently been planted in the Beaver drainage area, and it is expected that additional German brown plantings will be made soon. There seems to be "plenty" of water in the Beaver Mountains 111 is year, Mr. Nichols said; prospects are that the Beaver Mountain area will have more water this year than at any time in the past five years. |
