Show By W. O.Tolesriiprj.l TUB NEBRASKA MUDDLE AGAIN. Omaha, 10. Gov. James, who hps been acting as governor since the im peachment of Butler, left tho Slate yesterday afternoon, going east on business bus-iness and I. S. Haskell, president of the senate, left this place also yesterday yester-day afternoon for tho capital, and this morning wo havo a proclamation from him, as acting governor, convening the State legislature. The call is made, among other things, for tho purpose of taking action as to when any office shall be vacant, on filling the same, the investigation of the official conduct of any officers, and, if deemed expedient, their impeachment. This is considered consider-ed sharp practice, with tho intention of impeaching tho absent governor, who lately prorogued the legislature, in which case Haskell would become acting governor of tho State. The legislature leg-islature is called for February 15th. Gov. James will probably be back in two or three days. |
