In 1999, the Utes handed a 9 beating to the Red Hawks at the Huntsman Center. The reason the Utes scheduled the game is because coach Rick Majerus is friends with Ripon coach Bob Gillespie. Majerus has tried, though unsuccessfully, to hire Gillespie onto the U staff on two separate occasions. Gillespie owns a career record of 5 in 23 seasons at Ripon. The Red Hawks began the 2002-0- 3 season with nine straight wins before 4 losing to Lawrence University at home on Jan. n. For the ski team, 17 athletes made the honor roll, including seven dean's list honorees.
