Show Citizen Free Press Geneva Review Y. - August 5, 1998 McDaniel Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Geneva Young McDaniel passed away Aug. 1, 1998 in American Fork at the age of 86. She was born May 2, 1912 in Wallsburg, Utah, to Joseph Smith Young and Mary Viola Mecham. She married Wilbur Clark McDaniel on Aug. 19, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Geneva was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Orem, Utah and lived all of her married life in Alpine, Utah. She was a faithful member of the Church of Richard I. Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints having served faithfully in many church positions. She loved to read, crochet, and travel. She loved the time spent with her family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by one son and four daughters: Rulon C. McDaniel, Phyllis (Marilyn) (Arlin) Bellon, both of Alpine, Utah; Connie (Steven) Pulsipher, Sandy, Utah; Glenda (John) Goodridge, Eureka, Montana; Joyce (Jim) Galetka, Riverdale, Utah; 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one sister, Gladys Thomas, of Spanish Fork. Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Alpine 12th Ward (98 North Canyon Crest, Alpine). Friends may call Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial in the Alpine City Cemetery. Mickelsen March 12, 1954 at Salina, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Richard "Dick or Kojak" as he was known by his closest friends retired from the U. S. Air force in 1970. His military career also included the Navy and Army. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints where he served in various positions. The love of his life was his "Sweetheart" of 43 years and his daughters. He was known for his humor and wit and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. Dick is survived by his wife: LaPreal "Mickey", Oasis, Utah; three daughters: Dixie (Kelly) Bird; Lehi, Utah; Lissa (Kim) Sorensen and Mya Church, both of Salina, Utah; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandBrothers: Jim children; (Dorothy) Cary, Oregon; Norm (Marilyn) Cary, Monroe, Utah; Sisters: (Robert) Evelyn Delano, New York City, New York; Anita Strom, Seaside, Bernice Oregon; mother-in-laMickelsen, Salina, Utah.
