The approval by the city council 0 was subject to a final approval in August, with certain modifications in water and sewer. The city council spent 75 minutes talking about water and sewer issues. Saratoga Springs Development Company owns a small sewer treatment plant with a capacity of just under 200 homes. The city council, with three 3-- of the five members present, had to have three votes to pass measures. Present were Mayor Larry Johnson, Jim Franc and Rob Kramer, while Reid Wayman was in the hospital and Cheryl Chadwick was on vacation. Franc pointed out the need to establish water quality standards. He also made comments about infrastructure, stating, "We (the city council) need to establish the forms of infrastructure in our best interests." Franc also noted that the Roberts Group development would need to drill for water and build a one million gallon water tank and hook a main water line into the existing water system. "Your line can't have any gaps," Franc warned. "It has to hook all the way into the pre- launches, about three and 4.5 miles south of the trailer, but not associated with the Roberts Group or Walter Wright. The Roberts Group has a launch 4.2 miles south, called Lake Mountain Marina, with a sent line." A fee amount will soon be set by the city council. The city council made it clear the Roberts Group had primary responsibility for drilling a well and building a water tank. However, the council also told the Roberts Group it could negotiate with other developers (such as Walter Wright) in sharing expenses without the city involved in creating agree Saratoga Springs off Redwood Road and where the Saratoga Springs Development Company has a trailer to the Roberts land is almost 3.5 to 4.2 miles to the south and on the west side of Utah Lake. The Wright land also starts over four miles to the south of the trailer, but is on both sides of Redwood Road. In the past, Utah County has been reluctant to approve development on the west side of Utah Lake because of lack of water. All three vehicles traveled on the Frontage Road to a local convenience store, where the incident escalated into fisticuffs. The original ODG victim and the ODG flipper's brother were both cited for disorderly conduct. (One wonders what will become of the flipper who started it all??) In an unrelated, yet potentially more dangerous road rage situation, a Highland woman and her passengers had a gun pointed at them from a car who recklessly drove around them after she cut them off without intent. The unknown stalkers followed the victim's vehicle for several miles until they were finally able to shake them. A Cedar Hills man, an employee of a development company building homes in the area, observed a Lehi man remove a real estate sign from the side of the road, a place the former said the company had permission to use. The $500 sign has had to be replaced several times because it has been removed previously by unknown sus5. Water 0 Continued from front page In the case of the city of Saratoga Springs, a county appointed city council was created to serve two years until June, 1999. Only three of the five city council members live in Saratoga Springs. e "This is a situation," said resident Elaine Parker. She said she wanted the water company to continue delivering good water at reasonable rates. "I agree," Bonnie Moore said. After noting a variety of outcomes including possible loss of water use by homeowners, she added, "And I feel threatened lose-los- 0 by the situation." "I also feel in jeopardy," Board of Directors Member Lynn Wardley said. After explaining he has fronted a very considerable amount of money to form a water company, he added "How can we go forth?" Lynette Hubbard said, The success of our water company is very important to us. How can we get the city council to listen?" "If we go to the city council, and enough of us go, they"ll listen," resident Dave Zabriskie said. Two other questions raised by residents but unanswered were if existing residents might have to pay more, in effect subsidizing future development, or if the entire cost would be paid for additional water facilties by developers. Elections were elect a three-memb- Bonnie Moore, Elaine Parker, Peter Peterman, Merlyn Smith and Tim Taylor. Ohter facts included: The present water rate for Saratoga Springs is the same as Lehi. When Bushman was named of Forbes as principal Elementary in American Fork, Worthington followed him to the school, where he taught sixth grade for two years before accepting a district post as administrative assistant to Gary Keetch and Luana Searle. His administrative position was cut short when he was asked to fill in as assistant principal at American Fork Junior High during the latter American Fork, where he remained for three years before being asked to open the new Mountain Ridge Junior High School in Highland. For the last four months ,of that school year, he remained at Greenwood while staffing and ordering supplies for his new school. "It was one of the most exhilarating experience I've had in my life," he said of opening the new school, "but it was a heck of a lot of work."
