Show Redmen Travel South To Test Dixie Flyer Strength Basketball is in the air at Cedar Ce-dar City High School and Coach Bruce Docker and the Kedmen team are stirring up a war party par-ty for an invasion of St. George Friday evening for what could be a "make or break it" contest with the Flyers of Dixie. The Flyers are currently leading lead-ing the race in the Dixie Division Divi-sion with three wins to their credit, including a 18 to 16 win over Enterprise at Enterprise in the league opener. They have one-sided victories also over Ka-nab Ka-nab and Hurricane. The Redmen, on the other hand have similar wins over Kanab and Hurricane but fell to the Wolves of Enterprise, also at Enterprise En-terprise in a double overtime thriller. The loss to Enterprise and subsequent games put the Wolves and Redmen in a tie for second place honors. In order to remain In contention conten-tion in the division the Redmen face an almost must game Friday Fri-day against the Dixie Flyers. A win by the Redmen would throw the race Into a three-way tie with the Redmen to face both Enterprise and Dixie on the home court in the second half of play. A loss would make it pretty rough sledding for the Redmen It would push them two games behind Dixie with only four remaining re-maining games on the slate. Coach Decker expects to be at full strength for the contest. Dixie Dix-ie has proven to be a strong defensive de-fensive team while the Redmen have in the offensive department depart-ment In most of their contests. It should be somewhat of a battle bat-tle pitting the two basic fundamentals funda-mentals against each other Two leading scorers in the division di-vision will be on the floor. They are Truman of Dixie and Steve Cahoon of Cedar City. Each has Just over a 15-point per game identical average. |
