It will be ready for occupancy iu about two weeks. This building, by the way, is the best in the county. Manti has a new blacksmith shop. It is located on Main Street near the Board of Trade. The building was erected last week and although not of brick or five stories high, it adds one more to the list of buildings erected this season. M r. Reid of Xephi will preside at the forge . Dnring the week a peice of real estate; two thirds of lot 4, block 95, plat A, Manti citysnsvy, the property of Mrs. E. F, Barton, was sold to pay water tax. Alex Barton was tho purchaser. The price paid was $82:10. A piece of property prop-erty belonging to John Wiison; lot 5, block 86, plat A Manti city snrvey was ottered for sale to satisfy water tax. Xo bids were received and a certificate of sale was given to Mauti city. We are pleased to be able to aanonnce that onr enterprising photographer has recovered from his recent attack of illness ill-ness and is now attending to business in his geenial and courteous manner as of yore. The roads of Mauti are hard and generally free from dust, a drive around our city by moonlight, borrowing a few bad bridges, is a most delightful way of spending au evening in pure simple pleasure. Since the" rocks have been removed from onr streets they present a better appearance than the streets of any city in the connty. The roads are hard and smooth, and for cycling are uneqnaled anywhere in the country. , Among all tho wholesale houses In this territory there is but one exclusive wholesale house that carries both Dry Goods, Groceries and X'otions that of Scrowcroft and Sons Ogden, Utah. They carry a most complete stock in all their lines, and as they buy for cash can easily make better figures than any other house iu the territory. They are doing a good business in this county, and we recommend recom-mend retailers to buy of them. In the year of 18S9 Mr. H. L. Griffin commenced the Oyster Packing business in Ogden. Since that time the business has steadily increased, and he has as large a plant as any In the territory. Mr. Griffin commenced business In this territory two years before any other packer. Ho is also the most extensive dealer in fruits aud produce in the city of Ogden, and makes a specialty of butter, eggs, poultry etc. The cans used in this business are made at home this assuring white labor. Mail orders receive prompt attention, and we can say that all who deal with this firm will be well satisfied. The Democrats of Sanpete connty met in convention at Ephraim Saturday, last and placed the following ticket lni the political field. For Selectmen, N. C. Sorenson, Peter Lindwall, George F. The whole proceedings pro-ceedings were harmonious and well con-duoted. con-duoted. Tho King Mercantile Co. of Ogden, Utah have the largest candy factory in Utah. This firm are wholesale Grocers and manufacturing confectioners. All goods handled by them axe fresh and gnaranteed first class. This company was established in 1890 and is well known in this county through the able representation of "Simon Pure" Liddell. The company's warehouse is situated very close to in fact right on.the railway and this of course, enables them to handle goods at less expense than any other jobbers in the territory.
