Show SOCIETY v', i Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Peterson entertained enter-tained at dinner Wednesday evening in honor of their old friends Mr. and Mrs. II. T. Hanks of Los Angeles. Hickman-Nowers Nuptials Miss Fern Hickman of this city and George Nowers, of Beaver were married mar-ried at Ely, Nev., Monday, October 20lh the couple were attended by Miss , LaRue Blackburn, of Minersville and J Roy Yardley of Beaver. The happy couple will go to housekeeping at Beaver. Mrs. Myron Lewis was delightfully entertained Friday evening, October 17th when a few friends surprised her with a delightfully planned dinner, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. an-niversary. Mrs. C. R. Parrish, Mrs. J. Kinney, Mrs. J. R. Murdock, Mrs. George Fernley, Mrs. Scott Tanner, Mas. Rue Nelson, Mrs. Clarence Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Mrs. Erma Gillies were present. The evening was spent with music and fortune telling. t it. Bridal Shower Mrs. Stanley Voorhees and Miss Delia Kirk gave a bridal shower Thursday evening, October 16th, in honor of Fern Hickman at the home of her mother Mrs. Des Hickman, The evening was spent in playing "500." I First prize was won by Eva Banks, consolation, Reva Mattingly. A delicious delic-ious luncheon was served to the following fol-lowing Verna Bird, Honora Hutchins, Vivian Hunter, Eva Banks, Arvilla Muir, Thelma Talbott, Dorothy Mur- 'dock, Reva Mattingly, LaRue Blackburn, Black-burn, Gladys Coleman, Leah Richards, Eva Coleman, Mable Turner, Angie I Lyman, Miss Davis, Mrs. Des Hick- I man and the guest of honor. Many beautiful and useful gifts were receiv- i ed. ! j Birthday Party On Saturday evening a birthday ; party was given in honor of Mrs. Cleo ; Crawford, of Caliente, at the C. R. Crawford home. The following were prc-ent: Mrs. Geo. Litchfield, Mrs. E. D. Lyman, Mrs. Wayne Lyman, Mrs. j Lloyd Workman, Mrs. Don Workman, Miss Marie Banks, Mrs. H. Davis,1 M.s Arlic- Stoddard and Mr. and Mrs. , C. R. Crawford. The evening was spent in playing five hundred. High prize was awarded to Mrs. Cleo Crawford; Craw-ford; low, Mrs. Don Workman. After ' cards a delicious hot luncheon was served. The honored guest received many beautiful gifts. |
