"Macbeth" last nitrht drew another large house, and those preHiit eDjoyed a very nor performance, per-formance, with Mr. Chaplin in the title role, and Miss Walters as Lady Macbeth, supported by a full casL Beth of the impersonations we have noticed before. Mr. Thome's Macduff is worthy of mention for the vigorous manner in which it was rendered. The music and chorus reflected much credit upon Professor Thomas, and ihe choir, as well as on Mrs. Thomas and Mr. TeasdaJe, to whom were committed the principal solos-To-morrow night Mr. Chaplin takes his farewell benefit, when he presents a most attractive bill, openiog with the fine comedy of "School," to be followed fol-lowed by the " Invisible Prince." Either of these pieces would make a pleasant, though short, evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. Mr. Chaplin has labored faithfully and successfully to please, gratify aud amuse the public, and should receive a bumper house on the occasion of his benefit Let him see that his efforts have been appreciated. |
